I was talking with a professor about some rare
Medieval manuscripts she’s been working with.
They were found inside the binding of books.
Working in the Mendery, I often do spine
replacements on books. It isn’t uncommon to
find publishers using whatever paper was handy
to strengthen the spine text block. This is from
a 1934 British book, using what looks like some
Biblical text, with Greek. Sometimes I see old
newspaper print. We use good quality paper
these days.
