Edge of the Kingdom

Posted on 16:26 by clark

Last night I watched Michael Powell’s
1937 movie, THE EDGE OF THE WORLD
a beautiful, thoughtful wonder.
Director Powell was suggested to me
by my friend Neal Huff who plays
Jed the seaplane pilot in Wes Anderson’s
latest film MOONRISE KINGDOM.

Michael Powell appears in
THE EDGE OF THE WORLD,
piloting the sailboat to the island
I can see how Jed
is the perfect tribute to Powell,
(not only sharing the mustache)
but also carrying people to
this magical setting. I’ll be
watching more of Powell’s films
and will soon report.
