the Human Resources department
distributed these thick rubber bracelets
to the employees of the library.
'Empower' (note the inside is stamped
with the words 'It's up to you')
At the slightest sign of distress
or negativity, we are urged to give
a violent snap of the bracelet.
In other words, self-inflicted pain
is the official policy. It does seem odd.
But also very familiar. The first thing
I thought of was Harry Potter.
